STAYING IN THE LANDPOD NEST

YOUR ACCOMMODATION: THE LANDPOD NEST @ BIG SKY

The Nest is nestled away in a picturesque arboretum at the north end of Big Sky, surrounded by trees and bushes in its own private garden. It’s the only pod of its kind in the world, with a second storey bedroom and loads of space downstairs.

You can drive and park within metres of the accommodation to make unpacking nice and easy. We’ll show you up to the Nest when you arrive.

The Nest sleeps up to six people in three double bunks. There’s plenty of storage for bags, one fixed and one pull-out table, and lots of internal bench seating and surface space. In classic Landpod tradition the wings on either end of the lower lever can be opened up, allowing a lovely breeze and extra light in on fine days.

The Nest’s garden is just as much a draw as the Landpod itself. With a large sheltered field kitchen, private firepit, hammock stand and picnic table, this is the ultimate spot to hide away in with friends and family.

Inside you’ll find:

• Solar powered power packs that power lights upstairs and down, and they have USB power points too. The power packs don’t have sufficient power  for high draw items like hair dryers, slow cookers etc! Sometimes on cloudier days the solar panels won’t fully charge the packs so keep an eye on the bars and let us know before 5:30pm so we have time to replace the pack before the evening.

• 2 x double beds in bunk format + 1 double mattress upstairs in the nest

• Seating for everyone around a permanent table, perfect for meals, games or remote working.

Outside you’ll find:

• Your field kitchen! Sheltered beneath a waterproof canopy, your kitchen comes complete with prep surface, single-hob gas burner, saucepan, frying pan, mugs, crockery and cutlery (for four people) and utensils. Kettle, washing up bowl, chopping board and knives.

• Plastic boxes in kitchen for your dry foods

• Coffee, tea, herbal teas and sugar. Hand soap and washing up liquid.

• 50+ litre cooler box, for which we’ll re-supply newly frozen ice packs when needed

• Firepit

• BBQ with grill - firewood is available at £5 a basket

• Picnic table

• Fresh drinking water in a jerry can

• Private Eco toilet

• A hammock stand - just one person in the hammock at any given time, and shoes off always :)

• Lastly, we’re in the countryside and food attracts attention from our small friends :) We provide air tight boxes for you to put any food in and suggest that you wash up after meals and don’t leave food or scraps lying around, inside or outside.

A few notes:

Keep an eye on your power pack levels. On sunny days it’ll charge itself up to make sure you have lights and USB charging points in the Nest, but let us know before 5:30pm each day if the bars are low and we’ll bring you a freshly charged replacement pack :)

The light switch in the Landpod is on a timer - this is to avoid the lights being left on and batteries being drained. If it switches itself off, flick the switch and hey presto! More light!

On cooler nights we recommend closing the wings to keep the heat in.

Please don't use the gas hob as a heater (we can't believe we have to write this, but it has been done!)
